The Olympic Rings have five different colors, blue, yellow, black, green and red. Along with the white color of the background, the six colors represent all nations in the world, without exceptions. People from all countries and nations are now brought together by the Olympic spirit and ready to compete with each other equally.

The Beijing Olympic Emblem is called, "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing". The Chinese character Jing which represents Beijing is a very unique Chinese seal. Chinese people like the traditional seals with beautiful Chinese characters on the surface. The red color is Chinese people's favorite as well. Red color means hope, courage, and inspiration. Meanwhile, the "Dancing Beijing" is also very modern. It looks like a dancing person, in a very happy mood. It represents the spirit of sports, and the passion Beijing wants to show to the rest of the world.

We also have a cool slogan for Beijing Olympics, which is One World, One Dream. It reflects the universal value - Friendship, Progress, Harmony, Participation and Dream. It expresses the common wishes of all human-beings all over the world. We are inspired by the Olympic ideas, to strive for a bright future together. One World, One Dream is a simple expression, but profound in meaning. Also we want to tell the rest of the world by this slogan, that Beijing, China, and Chinese people are willing to become part of the entire global village, and have the same dream as all other people do, to have a better, peaceful, and colorful world.

Does anyone know how to say "Beijing welcomes you" in Chinese? Beijing Huanying Ni! This sentence contains the names of our official mascots of Beijing Olympic Games. We have five mascots, Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, Nini. We call them FuWa, also known as Friendlies. They look similar, cos they are brothers and sisters. Beibei is a blue fish, who represents the sports we do in water. Jingjing is a cute panda, who is very friendly and very easy-going, just as Chinese people. Huanhuan is the big brother of these five mascots, who leads them and is very active. He is a happy flame, which stands for the Olympic Flame. Yingying is a yellow Tibetan antelope, who comes from Tibet and runs fast. It represents the athletics in Olympic games. The last one is Nini, who is a green and pretty swallow. She flies high in the sky, showing the beautiful picture of future to everyone. These five FuWa represent five colors of the Olympic Rings, and the spirit of Olympics. They also express the hopes of Chinese people towards Beijing Olympic Games.

We also use some unique Chinese stylish designs on the medals and the torch of Beijing Olympic Games. You probably have known that, we used very precious jade on the Olympic medals. They look nice and match the colors of gold and silver very well. The Beijing Olympic Torch is unique too. I love the design of the torch. The shape is very simple, but we have the Dancing Beijing Seal Image on the surface, as well as some red images of beautiful clouds. I had a chance to hold a model torch once, and by the time I was holding it, I did feel the positive feelings it wanted to express. I'm sure this precious torch will take the wishes of us to the whole world and will light up our hopes and dreams.

After the brief introduction of Beijing Olympic Games, we are about to arrive.
The Olympic Center and Olympic Field are right on the northern part of Beijing City. The Olympic Field, the Olympic Center, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City are on the same line from north to south. This shows the Chinese traditional way of architecture.

The Olympic Center is 66 hectares large (650 thousand square meters) and 8.4 kilometers away from Tiananmen Square. A subway line is being built directly from Tiananmen Square to the Olympic Center. It has over 50 buildings in total, including 6 outdoor stadiums and 5 more indoor arenas. The Olympic Center has held several sports events successfully, such as the 11th Asian Games, the 6th Sport Games for disabled people of Far East and Southern Pacific Areas and the 7th National Sports Meeting. Today we are going to have a look around and take a few pictures of this area.

On the other side of the 4th ring road is the Olympic Field. It is almost 18 times bigger than the Olympic Center, 1153 hectares. It is divided into three parts. The northern part is the biggest one, almost half big of the whole Olympic Field area, which is the Olympic Forest Park. The Chinese Nationalities Park is also part of the Olympic Field, and the rest of the Olympic Field is the main part, the venues and technical facilities. There are 14 out of all the 33 Olympic Venues in this area. The Olympic Village and Media Village are also here. For further use after the Olympics, we also built buildings for commercial use and public parks of nice views here. All the facilities will be open to public from 2009.

There are two most famous constructs here, the National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest and, the National Swimming Center, also known as the Water Cube. Both of them were newly built. It took us over 4 years (from the year 2003) to complete the Bird's Nest, which was recently opened to public in March. The Water Cube was completed earlier in January, this year, and it has already held two test events successfully.

The Bird's Nest is 258 thousand square meters big. It contains over 90 thousand seats, 1,100 of which will be moved after the Olympics. During Olympics, the Athletics and the final match of Soccer will take place in this stadium, as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremony. People tried to guess what the Opening Ceremony will be from the structure of the stadium, but none of them could figure out. The Nest looking of the stadium represents the home for people. Because birds always put their eggs in their nests, the architects wanted to express the hope of new life through this design.

The Water Cube is around 80 thousand square meters large. It contains 6 thousand seats, a third of which will be moved after the Games. Olympic Swimming and Diving matches will be held here. The roof of this stadium is very unique. The material is a special man-made skin. They put millions of different shapes of skins together to make it look like air bubbles. Every piece of skin is different from each other. It makes the stadium look like magical world at night, when the lights are turned on. Except for the reason of looking, the different shapes of skin were designed to make sure we make best use of the sunlight, in order to reduce the electricity the stadium costs.

Three important constructs just finished construction last week, the National Indoor Stadium, the Main Press Center and, the International Broadcasting Center. The National Indoor Stadium is about 90 thousand square meters big, with at most 80 thousand seats in it. It will be used in many indoor events during the Olympics and Paralympics. It’s just behind the Water Cube.

The Main Press Center is a huge construct containing 4 connected buildings. Two of them will be hotels for journalists only, while other part of the Center will be used for Olympic News Operation. To the opposite of MPC, there is the IBC building, which stands for the International Broadcasting Center. More than 6000 journalists will be working in these two buildings during Olympics.

The red color(The color red)

Red Color
Color Red

Chinese people are willing to become

Architecture
