Although the inevitable trend in history almost were promoted by the groups of people, it is impossible for our historian to study every person in the groups of people, which would be far away the rule of history. The wise method is to emphasize the important individual who made significant effect on the development of the society.
Human history consists of a lot of significant historic events promoting progress of society. Nevertheless, these events could not happen by their selves, they always were led or stimulated by some guys who were considered as the famous person in history. Maybe they had the right of deciding the war; maybe they have the talent to lead a country; maybe they have the power to guide the normal people. The most important thing is that they had the ability to gather the energy of people. For example, if Mohandas Gandhi never appeared in India, the country would remain system governed by British. Thereby the individual's effect of Gandhi is key of the independence of India. In addition, we easily think about the veto of American president show the critical usage of the president in national behavior, which tell us president's idea could impact a country's destiny.
For the reason why the study of history emphasize important person but normal person, I believe the study will obtain more information and value. Because the individual has character which attracts us and faith which could be absorbed by normal person? These famous people delegate their age by their works or words and so forth, so we understand their time just though their individual. For instance, we can learn the movement of Africa-American's reform just by studying the Martin Luther's essay or words, whose life totally reflect an new era of black people in the U.S .
Admittedly, the effect of normal people can not be neglected by us in the development of history. Due to their power, the societal revolution could raise; without the support of them, the historic individual would not appear. In modern society, we can easily find the example that the leading party of a country are overthrew by the people because of ignoring people's claim.
In sum, the assertion that the study of history places emphasis on individuals is correct choice. Thus, we can understand the history efficiently and learn something from the famous historic person. However, it is horribly wrong if we neglect the effect of people, especially politician and Party.
