Of course we should if we have enough money because it is our responsibility to guarantee that our future generations can enjoy even more comfortable lives. [size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]We should spend more money on immediate existing social problems which may become bigger problems in the future if we do not solve it in time. That is to say, if we do deal with the existing social problems now, we possibly can easily solve the problems which may exist in the future. After the earthquake happened in WenChuan, Sichuan province, China on May 12th, 2008, we should immediately allocate money to rescue the survivors, to guarantee that we can search all of the people who haven’t lost their lives during the earthquake, but not use the money to the research such as how to rebuild the cities and towns or how to benefit more WenChuan people in the future if the money was limited, because only through rescuing more survivors, can the WenChuan people be more confident. And they will be more willing to take part in the rebuilding projects in the future because their moral improved if they known that their relatives were alive. This example illustrate that there is a strong relationship between whether future problems can be solved smoothly or not and if we can deal with the existing problems. [/font][/size]

[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Although the future problems solving may depend on the existing problems’ solving, we should still not to overlook the future problems which we have the responsibility to solve if we have enough money and capability, and we should still spend money on the research about them. For example, people all over the world should pay attention to the problems of greenhouse effect due to the much carbon dioxide polluted by the modern industry. US government refuses to solve the problem although they have enough money which will eventually have bad effect on human beings in the future. However, in my opinion, most of the countries do not forget their responsibilities, for instance, Chinese government recently issued a policy that people who shopping in the supermarket or other place should pay for the plastic bags they use in order to reduce the amount of plastic rubbish and preserve land for their future generations after researching for a long time. As far as I concerned, if we do not solve these problems such as environment problems, protecting wild animals and finding new resources, our future generation may make more effort and spend more money to solve it.

That is the reason why most of those projects can get relatively little money. Even if the people’s moral standard is the highest, he can not live without food, clothes and money. The ancient emperor QingShihuang did not pay attention to the Chinese people’s existing problems such as starvation, but built the Great Wall to prevent the Huns’ invasion which might happen in the future, which aroused great complaint. And finally his grandson was killed by the angry farmers, which end the Qing Dynasty of China. This example tells us that neglecting the existing problems but only pay attention to future problems will not be accepted by normal people, and can not succeed at last.[/font][/size]
