在可怜的四所学校里面选来选去，`{9^?-}m#W
最后在父母的“怂恿”下，还是选Cranfield了，好多朋友说我傻……说偶放着有些名气的学校不去,而选这个没有名气的大学……心里很不是滋味……::13R@^']#qdxA;gV

Cranfield University 的前身是Cranfield technology college, 军事院校背景,后来经过扩充，现在发展成为一个研究所性质的大学。相信大家都可以从它的网站上了解到它的组成 （[url]www.cranfield.ac.uk)[/url],其中包括了著名的school of management (SOM), Cranfield University 共有三个校区，其中SOM 位于Cranfield campus, 位于Bedford（历史名城，Bedfordshire 的首府） 和 Milton Keynes （70 年代建立起来的现代化城镇）之间。cranfield位于伦敦北部大约60英里，开车大概要1个半小时。

HI*vkk0I SOM 的强项在于他和实业界关系密切，研究方向以实用和应用为基础，故经常可以从公司获取资助，资金来源相当充沛。不同于很多英国的大学，Cranfield University 并不招收 undergraduate 学生，所以他的资金来源不象其他大学那样通过拼命招生来获取收入，而是通过获取企业资助。SOM 的研究重点在Relationship Marketing, 很多教授在这方面都是英国 市场研究方面的泰斗。Cranfield的商学院牛是牛在它的MBA是欧洲数一数二的，它的物流牛是因为它的供应链管理研究所是欧洲物流研究的一个主要中心。

虽然SOM的学费不菲，但申请来这里攻读的本国学生也相当不少。特别是他的MBA 项目，本国学生的比例相当高。可以想象，这些本国学生不是傻子，他们肯花费这么多钱来读书，肯定不是打水漂的干活。 {)HB+tM

The campus of Cranfield University is well situated among three famous cities in UK: London, Cambridge, and Oxford. You can travel to each of the three cities in less than two hours. However, it is quite isolated area and you should not expect to find funs here as you will in other universities in UK ^

^m-kD [b,? Cranfield has been more keen to candidates' GMAT scores in recent years. I believe one of reasons is that it wanted to improve its MBA ranking through high average GMAT score. The average GMAT of current MBA students is 660, but that of Supply Chain Management is a little bit lower. Regarding TOFEL or IELTS, it is a necessary, but not sufficient criton for admission. For MBA, the verage TOFEL score is 634 and miminum IELTS is 7.0. I am sorry I do not have such information for MSC programme. However, if you want to study in Cranfield, I do suggest you to prepare English, especially listening and speaking, before you come here. Otherwise, you can not benefit from what the lecturers teach and contribute to your colleagues. I am serious. One Chinese MBA student deffered his study after he lived here one month. The main reasin is that he did not feel comfortable about his English, even though I think he is quite good at English.5G*Zj*QY q7?z

All Cranfield faculty are teaching students pratical, not like some Top UK business schools which simply asked professors to write research articles. But those professors never did teaching.

o*M"dhQb Many Cranfield MBA were senior managers (average 31yr old)before they came to the school, and some started their own businesses after graduation. How can you expect a rocketed salary increase? Some schools accepted candidates who had few work experiece. It is no doubt they took advantage of younger students to gain higher salary increase. FYI, many Cranfield MBA got MD or GM jobs after graduation. One guy in my learning team has a Porche which demonstrates his previous success.w*B6\G-|j

&jxH8Zw3L,] Phd/faculty ratio is a rediculous indicator. Many best Cranfield lecturers do not have Phd degree but they are non-executive directors of some listed companies. For example, one economic lecture only has a MBA degree, but he was chief economist of British Agriculture Association. Another finance professor got his MBA degree in Havard 50 years ago, but again he does not have a Phd degree. If Cranfield get rid of many best lecturers who do not have Phd degrees, and recruit some young Phds, the ranking will be improved very much.+K;n5ZY(lc{(d,J

FT never valued teaching quality of a school because that is a soft measure. Unfortunately, that is the advantage of Cranfield. One example is that Cranfield offers MBA about 100 electives and each student must learn more than 30 core and elective courses within one year. I do not know which U.K. business school can provide such electives. I am not sure whether an ordinary student can take 30 courses in one year.rQ;va4]v&}

老实说，我个人认为LBS出名，并不只因为他是伦敦大学的学院，更重要的是它在商界打拼多年的结果。就好像LSE,IC，估计大家说到“赞”的时候想到的更多是他本身，而并非虚的那个University of London的世界排名吧？就好像伦大也有很多不出名的学院。
