望高手指点，He is taller than me.这句话是否正确

望各位达人指点啊
?e0V/aS^        我的感觉是，平常似乎说惯了，但有个老师问我们这句话的时候9W TJ(v ~

              都被踏雪了一顿，望高手指点一下

It took me a while to figure out what the distinction between "He is taller than me" and "He is taller than I am" is.  Of course, I come from an English speaking country thus I've never seen the finer points of English grammar in school so I wouldn't spot it right away.  I would say that any argument for the former being "ungrammatical" is simply artificial.  Languages evolve with time and if at any point it was ungrammatical that is no longer the case.  I would say that it makes for a stylistic difference now: repeating the verb after the conjunction gives a sense of completeness to it.  Maybe one could also construct a sentence where the first form is ambiguous and the second not.  Grammatical conservatives will call the latter the correct form and the former not but to everyone else they are both correct.  It's worth noting that some of those grammar rules adhered to are not English at all but rather Latin.

当英语是纯屈折语的时代，名词的格 (case) 非常重要。德语现在就是还有 nominative, accusative, dative, 与 genitive 四个格。在这句里，因为是 I am tall 的省略，所以要用主格。但是自从英格兰被诺曼人征服后，法语侵占英语，所以日尔曼语系的古英语吸收了很多法语的成份，发展为中古英语。以后一直丧失屈折语素，语法愈来愈接近汉语。现代英语里面的屈折成份已经差不多消失尽了，特别是格这个语法手段，只保留在代词里面。英语现在是语序决定语法形式，He is taller than me. 和 It is me. 就是这个变化的结果。than 是连词，但是样子好像介词。介词后面都是用宾格的，所以很多人就用 than me 了。is 是动词，其他动词跟着的都是宾格，只有 be 后面是跟主格。这个区别在现代英语里面根本没有意义，所以如果说 It is I.，别人还会觉得你别扭，要改为 it is me. 才够自然。q\q)`Sej![4R
