I believe that the speaker is on the correct side of this issue for the reason that intellect that can be learned from books in schools is the basis of what we are willing to create or change for better use. Xiaoping Deng, a great leader of China said ”Science and technology are the first productivity.” Intellect in terms of language, maths, logic, reasoning and other cognitive skills which people have been studying from early life as children to now makes people know how to solve some problems even when they are very complicated. People use intellect to help themselves live much easier and more comfortable. Science, for example, as a main form of intellect benefits humans a lot in all the aspects in our life. Inventers and scientists are studying new knowledge and researching in fresh areas or developing some skills that already have today to make them better. So, living without intellect human beings cannot improve and as a result may be disappear some day.

Besides, I concede that we should not undue emphasis on emotion and feeling, which is harm for the society. The society needs intellect to keep in order. If people only use their emotion and feeling to tell true and false without intellect, the society would be chaotic. After all, laws and rules-two important aspects of intellect are indispensable for our society in order to keep our environment where we live peace and harmonious.

While intellect should be emphasis in our society, at the same time, we also cannot overlook emotion and feelings that stem from human nature. Humans need to have emotions and feelings and express them in the right time. For instance, love-one of humans' most important emotions can make people feel warm and inspired. People who have much money are able to devote to the charity work and help those who live in the poor condition to change their life at certain extent.

To sum up, intellect and emotion are both necessary in our society. Without intellect, the society cannot improve and people cannot live in justices and peaceful. Meanwhile, people cannot communicate well and help each other to make the world better without emotion and feeling.

这一段感觉很怪，与前面连接显得突兀，前面intellect deserves to be emphasized, 这里突然扯到emotion and feeling 不能被过多的强调。感觉上后面这一段接到前面合适。并且这一段感觉上有点扣题不紧，有点跑出ISSUE范围之外了。

第一次作业中，大家，包括我，都有一样的毛病，不够深刻，可能在开头一两段写得还可以，但越到后面越牵强。整体逻辑不紧密也不够深刻。一起努力吧^_^
