Does the artist, whose feats are always placed at a prominent height by the critic, give the society something that will last further in human beings' history? I strongly concur with the speaker in emphasizing the artist’s historical values as the critic's job is in want of less creative ideas and initiates than the artist.

The artist's works are consequences of human beings' deeply observing and analyzing the daily lives, social activities, and people’s internal activities. Before the artist create their works, which include novel, movies, music, paintings, and any other kinds of articles that convey comfortable beauty or hortative beliefs to the public, their passion for creating must be excited by observing some certain events. For instance, today's philosophers and psychologists are still researching Dante’s Divina Commedia, in which the descriptions reveal the strong belief of freedom of the common people in the early Renaissance. Freedom will, a pervasively existing belief, successfully encouraged people to fight against cruel dominations in the later centuries, and the most obvious example must be the war against Nazism in World War Two. In fact, even in the future, human beings’ pursuit of freedom will definitely last.

The artist’s works are always considered as precious objects so that they can last longer in the museums around the world or as personal collections. This situation is readily seen in the field of painting. A recent investigation issued by the University of Edinburgh in Scotland indicates that in 2007 the museums in the Great Britain averagely spent 43.4 million pounds to collect the paintings from around the world, a 4.5 percent increase than last year. In fact, personal collection also facilitates the art works' lasting in the future.


Yet, critics are playing a more and more significant role. In the modern time when art works are exposed to the people all over the world via the Internet, they are more effective in discovering the great art works and distinguishing them from the ones that are less worthy of being kept. If there had been no critics who value the artist film “Departed" rather than the commercial film “Spider Man" and let the former one be entitled with the Academic Award, many Asian movie audiences would have never known about it. In the light of this, the critics are a group of people maximize the influences of the art works. Moreover, the critics help to make the issue of appreciating the beauty easier and more agreeable so that common people can get more accesses to the profound values that are hidden blow the surface.

In conclusion, the public ought to offer both the arts and the critics work environments in which they are less confined. Furthermore, the governments also need to establish detailed policies to support the artist's job in that they are more capable of holding the nations' culture values, which will help the various little-scale cultures survive from the cultural invasions of mainstream values.
