In generally, I agree with the assertion that those give society something of lasting value is the artist, not the critic. However, I believe that the lasting value of art is not only form the creation of artist but also the effect of critic, whose primary purpose is not for that.- M2 Y  V5 P( L9 G
        Undeniably, artists give society the lasting valve at least in two aspects that we respect. On the one hand, enjoying the creation of artists despite literature, music, movie and so forth, people must feel the beauty in these great works which could encourage us in spirit. For instance, Da Vinci's most picture, Mona Lisa, can make the visit feel a kind of amazing and morose beauty, which is wonderful enjoyment; I believe no body would say:” I dislike Beethoven's symphony, it is ridiculous!" , and I believe the music will be loved by our offspring. On the other hand, the great work can unfold something deeply in our society to people when it comes to Mark Twain's novel.

As literature, art, music these artistic form development, normal people hardly enjoy these work by the correct method. So the critics can help people to understand the works better, and enjoy the beauty from a better vision. Moreover, the lasting value is a different standard in different people. As a saying "There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes", thereby the critics can help us understand and enjoy the art from different visual angle.% F8 L1 }  s3 }3 I( J  Q
        However, sometimes the critics generate reverse effect in the artistic development. For example, when the art need a revolution in its form as the development of age, the criticism for the revolution will change into the obstacle. In addition, the politicians usually make use of the criticism to attack their opponents. In my view, these behaviors said above are disadvantage to art whose essence should be pure.% [3 r  D$ k8 A7 W
        In the final analysis, the assertion the artists gives something of lasting valve to society not the critic is partially correct. To some extent, the effect of artist should be attached more importance to, yet the feat of critics also should be remembered.
