Issue 130 "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."
The topic show us children’s socialization determine the destiny of our society. Besides, the topic also makes a negative conclusion that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. Form my point of view, I totally agree with the former topic statement that children are socialized today will influence our society’s development because children socialization play a vital role to mold children’s behaviors and values. However, I absolutely disagree with the later topic position that we have not yet learned how to cultivate children who can help give rise to a better society. In the following paragraphs, I will try to illustrate my points about this issue topic.
There is no denying that children socialization plays an important role in infancy, childhood and puberty. According to sociologist definition, socialization just tell our children how be a social person who is perfectly fit for our society. To detail socialization, the socialization is divided into primary group socialization and secondary group socialization. The primary group socialization is informal. As everybody knows, children accept family education in the beginning. In this period, children will be cultivated by their parents’ values and do everything that should satisfy their parents’ expectations. When our children grow up, they will be educated by secondary group socialization. They will enter elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, even universities. While our children attend to these educational institutions, the teachers will teach them professional knowledge and moralities. In addition, our children will learn how to associate with the others form peer groups. Moreover, our children also acquire information and form their values form mass media like TV and Internet. Eventually, our children under socialization who embrace anything not only form primary group but form secondary group as well will become a social person that their behaviors will correspond to social demands, in other words, all people’s demand.
In accordance with the above paragraph descriptions, we can know socialization has great influence on our children. Socialization will affect these children’s thoughts, behavior and manners no matter how old they are. Likewise, socialization will transmit the values of present age to next generations. That is to say, parents or teachers will tell their children or students what right is or wrong is. Form what is mentioned above, we can realize that socialization not only influences the children but also determine our society in the future because these children judge anything and take action by the moralities which are form socialization. Based on my knowledge about socialization, I totally agree with how children are socialized today determines the destiny of society.
However, I absolutely disagree with the later topic position that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society due to several reasons as follows. First of all, there are many kinds religions in our world for a long time. I took Buddhism for example, Buddha told his followers and believers that don’t kill any creatures, love others with all our hearts, restrain our desires and so on. Besides, .Christianity and Catholicism also publicize the true, the good and the beautiful of mankind to the people all over the world. Therefore, I think these religious doctrines will help our world become a better place. If children obey these religious principles and keep these in mind, I deeply believe our children will be able to build up a Upotia . society. Secondary, governments have established developed and mature educational systems in most advanced countries. Through these developed educational systems, our children will learn the novel knowledge and concepts so that they can put the knowledge which they learn in use to improve our society and our world. For instance, scientists take advantage of genetic engineering to ameliorate croppers in order to decrease famine problem in some backward nations. By means of the above conspicuous example, we can know we have already established excessively mature education system to teach our children how to bring about a better society. Owing to my reasonable and powerful discussions, I strongly oppose the negative conclusion of the topic and firmly advocate that we have already learned how to bring up our children who can help better our society.
In conclusion, I totally agree with socialization has great influence on the children and these children who are molded by socialization determines the destiny of our society. Owing to this phenomenon, we should pay our attention to the socialization structures and institutions and try our best to improve those. Nevertheless, I entirely disagree with the fact that we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. On the contrary, we have knew how to nourish our children and teach them what should they. To make use of all kind of socialization ways with a view to raising our children, I optimistically think our children will give rise to a better society in the future.
