TOEFL语法永远是最重要的. 考T的朋友积极备战吧..

又开了一个语法新贴，鼓舞大家的积极性。

托福语法的最重要的规则：
TOEFL语法第一条： 单数可数名词不能单独存在
例子：I LIKE THE FLOWER 或 I LIKE FLOWERS。 不能是：I LIKE FLOWER。
黄金规则1：
一个句子有且只有一个谓语，若有一个谓语就不能再有第二个谓语。若有另一个谓语，就必有连词，关系代词，副词。
一个句子若有连词，关系代词，副词，那此句就二谓语，分句各有自己的谓语。
例子：I GO TO THE SCHOOL。      ALTHOUGH HE HITS ME， I DON’T HOLD THE GRADGE。
黄金规则2：
在时间，条件，让步，方式，状语从句中，如果从句的主句和主句的主语一致，并且从句的谓语构成中有BE动词，从句主语BE动词可以同时省略。
THE BUILDING WAS 。。。。。。 ，WHEN BUILT。。。。。

of用法： OF的前面一定是名词，OF 的后面不一定非要是名词，但一般是名词。
简略式： N1 + OF +N2
AS的后面可以跟一个从句的。 例如： AS GOOD AS SHE IS 。等。
以上两个规则加上语第一条加上TOEFL的词组的特殊搭配，语法可以几乎得满分。
但上面的东西，各位T友一定要灵活运用。  这些可是新东方语法教育的精华。

十，要遵循的常识性的语法规则：
  1.介词后面必有宾语
  2.句子必须有谓语
  3.形容词修饰名词放在名词前
  4.副词修饰形容词放在形容词前
  5.副词一般不修饰名词
  6.及物动词后面必须有宾语
  7.形容词性的物主代词后面必有名词     it(them)+of+(    ) 必错！
  8.关系代词在句中必做成份
    做宾语的关系代词可以省略、做主语的关系代词永远不能省略

选择，the large .整个句子是什么结构，如果谓语是built,那为什么不用被动。

功能结构描述：主语_____名词（作表语/宾语）。
置于主语之后的空格，须选择以谓语动词开头的选项代入即可。正确答案为（D）。代入后，The most elaborate (bird nest) of all bird nests为主语，is为联系动词，the large, domed communal structure为由三个形容词修饰的表语。（A）和（C）缺失动词。（B）项中的副词largely不合题意，且"is"与表语之间无任何插入语，是不需要逗号的。
中译：在所有的鸟巢中，最复杂的是由群居的织布鸟所筑造起的庞大的，带有拱顶的，公共结构。

答案分析B错的原因（逗号前面部分变成了时间状语从句，逗号后面又不能成为完整的主谓结构，所以错。）
逗号后面不能构成完整的主谓结构我不理解，我认为后半句有主语有谓语是个完整的句子。
帮忙分析一下！

不用改NATURALLY
他是后置修饰前面的HARDEST.

2000年五月语法题第28题：a liquid that might be a poor conductor when pure is often used to make solutions that readily transmits electricity.答案将transmits改成
transmit,但when pure 中的pure 一般不能做名词，所以不能当主语，应改purifying,

"when pure"是when it is pure 的缩写，缩写时主语谓语一起省去。
