There has been some confusion and upset regarding the 211/non-211 policy for UNSW.) r% g" }6 g9 a" M* l6 z
I have met with both Admissions and with the Facutly of Business regarding this issue today to clarify our policy and to ensure our policy is FAIR.+ y! i1 V  L0 P( S# a/ |
Please see below for a point-by-point explanation of which offers have been rejected, and which have not:
% O, |) a5 p# N) G' ?/ o( v1. Students who applied for S1 08, but did not Accept their offer by January 21st had their Offer letters expired.
. s/ E4 b+ H" \* i7 n- s2. Students who failed UEEC or CULT at our Institute of Languages for S1 08 entry were deferred to S2 08, regardless of 211 status.
0 J; R! k; m* ?( Q6 n3. Applications made to UNSW Faculty of Business for S2 08 after Feb 1st were rejected or sent back to student/agent7 F2 Z( k# K) F, u' k
4. Applications made to UNSW Faculty of Business for S2 08 before Feb 1st, but processed after Feb 1st were rejected/sent back to student/agent9 Q! m- T5 i) R( v% Y
5. All applications made to UNSW Faculty of Business for S2 08 and processed before Feb 1st are still valid, regardless of 211 status.7 h" Y' K4 P5 ?. j# `5 A  b/ B
6. All successful applications for UNSW Faculty of Business for S1 09 from non-211 students made prior to Feb 1st are still valid.
' X/ G  R1 [; p: i; J% e7. All students with valid offers for S2 08 are requested to submit their outstanding documentation (IELTS) as soon as possible and to Accept their place. ( |7 p( M/ o  w  i1 S
8. As S2 08 is Full, students who wait too long to Accept their offer will not be admitted to UNSW Faculty of Business.  Students who wait until June to recieve their IELTS results will have great difficulty in securing their offer.

UNSW will soon be announcing some significant changes to the entry standards for its Australian School of Business (Postgraduate) programs. These changes will be outlined in the 2009 Business brochure that is being printed over Chinese New Year.  I thought it would be best to let you know by email first about these changes, so kindly let your colleagues know about this as well. These changes are for Business ONLY and do not affect any other program.

There are no more places available. Applications and Offers have far exceeded our capacity for Semester 2, 2008. Any outstanding applications will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

UNSW Postgraduate Business programs will NO LONGER accept non-211 students for Semester 1, 2009 and beyond.0 ^- u8 c  O6 b4 M/ i6 [, T
Only 211 university students with a GPA of 75% and above will be considered for Accounting, Commerce and Financial Analysis.  (and a GPA of 80% and above for our specialist one-year Masters programs like M.Mktg, M.Fin etc)( ]1 m. ?- _, ^& t

看来申请UNSW商科，尤其是2年会计课程的人太多了，尤其是中国学生，学校为了控制数量和质量，不得不这样做了。

老实说，我还蛮BS这种以学校的划分归进录取标准的做法的。不一定２１１才有好学生，其它学校一样有。一个取得９０分平均分的非２１１学生不见得就比一个７５分的２１１学生差。UNSW这样做无疑是会扼杀了不少优秀的学生的申请。

赚钱的课程，管不了这么多了

学校这样做确实有些不公平，但是毕竟招生名额有限，只能考虑其他大学了。

抵制它2个学期它就老实了

这样的情况发生，不能全部责怪学校，只能说明中国人民力量大，人口数量太多了。

还是unsw牛啊.有人只能去usyd了...哎  n. Y* K5 n5 }& [$ l6 }
这只商科?

只是商科受到了影响，我想和学校校园面积也是有直接关系的。如果按照每平方米学生密度来讲，肯定UNSW比USYD和MQ高的多，后两所大学校园内有大量可开发的土地，但是UNSW已经教学楼很密集了，连附近的民宅都占用了不少。

UNSW还是理科更强

是的，UNSW的工科和理科是强项，会计专业也是在世界大学排名中处于领先的地位。

学校那么多，又不一定要去的，墨大也不错嘛

看来下一个留学热点是非洲了

一下子又是提高ielts成绩要求又是拒绝非211。usyd不会也来个什么创举吧。。现在除了担心签证，还要担心学校政策了。。。

大学提供录取标准说明其一定实力的。
